Heavenly seclusion

Cluttons Heavenly seclusion

Words by 01/05/2007

The Spanish word "cielo" has two distinct translations in English - and both sit perfectly with the property featured here.

Situated in a hilltop setting high above the coast, Villa Cielo (i.e. Villa Sky or Villa Heaven) does almost seem to touch the sky; while its location in the über-select private estate of La Zagaleta ensures a heavenly lifestyle.

The six-bedroom, six-bathroom home sits on a 9,120 square metre plot (1,352 square metres of built area) with southerly views over the Mediterranean as well as towards the local countryside and mountains - and many intimate corners to enjoy relaxed solitude.

The family kitchen on the ground floor leads to a formal dining room with French doors leading on to the pool and patio area; while the main reception offers three areas for formal or casual entertaining, all with access to extensive terraces (300 square metres) and landscaped gardens (with an automated watering system).

The property also includes a "health suite" with massage room, sauna and eight-person jacuzzi; and two guest cottages, each with two en suite bedrooms, reception area and kitchenette. Other features include an integral music system to all main rooms and terraces; individually controlled air-conditioning; under-floor heating; two digital phone lines (four numbers); a satellite dish; an alarm system with infrared detectors in all rooms; security shutters on the windows; and climate double-glazing. The floor coverings are a mix of natural wood, marble and terracotta.

There are garage places for five cars; and automatic security gates with a video entrance system.
Designed and built in 1997, the home has been carefully incorporated into the natural surroundings of La Zagaleta, and offers direct access to the golf course via a private buggy path.
