CELEBRITY CHEF EASTER CHOCOLATE TREAT
Hell’s Kitchen celebrity chef Angela Hartnett of the Connaught Hotel in
London, who helped teach gorgeous Jennifer Elleson how to cook her way to
victory on the top telly show, has whipped up a healthy choccy Easter treat
exclusively for us. We reckon Jennifer, who admits to sometimes eating three
chocolate bars a day, will love making and eating it too.
Angela Hartnett says:
“Slice a banana, a kiwi fruit, a handful of strawberries and some grapes
onto a baking tray. Grate 25 grams of good quality white chocolate over the fruit
and place under the grill for a few minutes until melted. Serve immediately
and don’t feel guilty when tucking in!”

Fantastic recipe Angela! This gorgeous Easter treat has just 260 calories and seven grams of fat. Enjoy it and don’t feel deprived while everyone is tucking into calorie-laden eggs.

TWO GREAT CHOCOLATE-FREE EASTER TREATS
Origins Cocoa Therapy Instant Chocolate Fix

Just roll some cocoa therapy onto your wrists, take a sniff and you will get a comforting chocolate aroma that will keep your craving for eating real chocolate at
bay.

Purple Ronnie’s Little Book of Chocolate

We love this poem:

“If someone invented a chocolate, That actually made you get thinner,
They’d make a great sackload of money,

Cos that really would be a winner!”
Until someone makes slimming chocolate, buy a small 40 gram bar of Green & Black’s
Organic dark 70 per cent chocolate. Have a little nibble throughout the day and that’s
just 228 calories and 16 grams of fat in total.

EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT…
The Spritz-Away Craving Spray
African bushmen have chewed the herb hoodia gordonil for centuries to help
suppress appetite. Now it’s turned up as the main ingredient in a spritz-on-the-tongue formulation that’s been flying off the health food shop shelves. Salcura’s No Snax Natural Diet Therapy claims to “spray away the little hunger pangs in between meals”. It also contains green tea extract – known for its appetite-shrinking properties – and sweet-tasting fruit extracts to help curb sugar cravings.

WHAT’S IN
SMALLER PLATES: You eat less if you serve yourself from smaller packets,
bowls or plates – end of story.
TURN UP THE VOLUME: We run faster if we up the volume of our iPods when
training.
HAVE A LAUGH: A hearty one reduces the levels of hunger stimulating stress
hormones, so go ahead.

WHAT’S OUT
BIG PORTIONS: Bofins say we eat more even when food is stale if we serve
ourselves big portions.
EXERCISING IN SILENCE: No wonder you get bored and give up after a few
minutes.
NAVEL GAZING: The time spent feeling guilty over what you’ve eaten is
wasted – act now.

HOW TO CUT SALT
We get 75 per cent of our daily salt intake from processed foods. To cut
back to just three grams a day, you need to go back to basics – eating foods such as
porridge or sugar-free muesli for breakfast, fruit for snacks, pasta and
potatoes cooked without salt and lean meat, fish, eggs and vegetables at
main meals. Just one pinch of salt adds one gram to your meal and a shake from the
salt shaker adds 1.3 grams. For further information about reducing your daily
intake, visit www.salt.gov.uk

WEIGHT-LOSS DIET TIP
Get lots of sleep. One significant study has shown that sleep deprivation
causes us to overeat. Not getting enough sleep also prevents our bodies from
metabolising sugar efficiently.

on the treadmill

AND FINALLY…
Leaving just a few bites on your plate can lead to a weight loss of 10
pounds over the year. I don’t believe in wasting food, but taking three
bites less of every meal saves 75 calories each time you eat. And after a
few weeks, you’ll automatically serve smaller sizes. That can’t be bad!
