Truly feminine looks with a military twist

Topshop Truly feminine looks with a military twist

Words by 05/11/2005

Topshop's autumn/winter collection effortlessly combines the main influences from the catwalk this season. Victorian-esque pieces are modernised with deconstructed shapes and raw edges, and become deeply romantic, even fairytale like, when mixed with puff ball skirts, chiffon and two-tone silk. Post-war aviator styles lend a more casual edge to the collection, with leather tumbled flying jackets, slouchy cropped trousers and blouses which exude an admiral style. For a relaxed look, inspired by the 1960s art rock icon, look no further than a striped mohair jumper worn as a dress, cigarette pants and beatnik double-breasted coats. Topshop have mastered various styles and looks with this collection - a combination of everything from boho to military; touched with feminine elegance and a hip finish.
